Day Changers

October 26

It’s funny how one little thing can turn your whole day around, isn’t it?

Yesterday morning was a super stressful one due to a computer that just can’t seem to kick the Little Virus That Could (honestly, this virus has been wiped out but has returned three times). Later, as I was running an errand – specifically, a post office trip involving me, a line longer than Best Buy’s on Black Friday and two armfuls of boxes – my phone rang.

My dad, calling because he heard that I’d booked my very first event. He sounded happy and excited and proud. He let me know that he reads my blog everyday, gave an enthusiastic congratulations and told me to “go get ‘em.”

It totally changed my whole day.

Moral of the story: Make those calls. Tell your friends and family that you’re proud of them. They just may be at the post office, juggling a million things at once. They just might be having a bad day, and you just may turn it around.

Thanks for being a fan, Dad. (:

Ok way to know how to bring on the tears. This was a very inspirational blog. Just a phone call to someone that you are thinking about can put you back on the right track! Very very nice piece Shannon.
